What receives more weight
The combined result weights each subject by its available marks. It is different from averaging subject percentages equally.
Why raw marks are added first
Marks of 72/80 and 85/100 total 157/180, or 87.22%.
Do not mix these figures
- Averaging percentages when subjects have different totals.
- Mixing scaled and raw marks.
- Including optional subjects that should be excluded.
